Students were expected to choose a historical event from one of the following: the Bubonic Plague, the London Fire, or the Industrial Revolution. Then, they were instructed to identify the key events and discuss the ways in which factors such as class or gender would influence a historical narrative.
Above is an example of a fourth grader's personal narrative. This is also something students will write about.
In science, the students researched an animal that lived deep in the ocean. They had to find facts about their animal and make the animal come alive but also include facts which make it realistic.
