Instruction

Kingsway Christian School strives to honor Christ in partnership with parents and the Christian community by educating and motivating students to excel in future academic pursuits, to develop a confident Christian worldview, and to impact the world for Christ. All instruction is given with this vision in mind.

KCS teachers are dedicated professionals who look for opportunities to use STEM instruction in every classroom. Teachers have attended STEM professional development training sessions and conferences off campus to develop ideas of solving real-world problems and challenges. Students are exposed to various real-world problems and are encouraged to use collaboration to solve the problem. Teachers specifically plan STEM lessons in their classes throughout the week by using the FOSS science kits, 3D printers, items from maker space, and STEM labs. Students are given many opportunities to work collaboratively in groups while serving in various rolls to tackle the problems set in front of them. Rubrics are used to evaluate whether or not the goal was achieved. Students are expected to do their specific task and also help the group as they work. KCS school provides many different types of technologies to students. Kingsway has multiple computer labs, laptop carts, iPad carts, STEM labs, and a makerspace. Teachers use these technologies to utilize flipped classrooms and problem-based learning to enable students to become 21st century learners.
