Culture

Kingsway Christian School strives to honor Christ in partnership with parents and the Christian community by educating and motivating students to excel in future academic pursuits, to develop a confident Christian worldview, and to impact the world for Christ. KCS ensures teachers are equipped to educate and motivate students academically.

Teachers collaboratively plan on a weekly basis. The schedule allows teachers to seamlessly integrate and implement STEM planning and instruction. Furthermore, teachers have the freedom to arrange class spaces or reserve alternative space for STEM activities. KCS has developed a two-year certification plan including STEM technology and curriculum. The plan includes formal and informal methods of measuring students’ attitudes toward STEM. Evaluators are being trained in observing targeted STEM instructional practices in order to provide feedback. Teachers regularly receive instructional support through feedback and targeted professional development sessions, as well as curriculum training. Communication occurs regularly through social media as well as meetings in house about STEM activities throughout the school. One-hundred percent of our students participate in integrated STEM programming.

The STEM leadership team at KCS, comprised of nearly 50% of the certified staff, meets regularly to discuss, plan, and make decisions regarding STEM programming. Input is also received from other staff through weekly team meetings.
