Guided Reading
Reading instruction is delivered whole class, in small groups and individually
Daily 5
Daily 5 is a reading curriculum that allows students choices whilst developing their reading skills
Book reports are more than just a way to show that a student finished a bookâthey are an opportunity for deeper thinking and meaningful learning. When students complete a book report, they practice understanding what they read, identifying important ideas, and explaining their thinking in their own words.
Through book reports, students build essential skills like summarizing, making connections, and supporting their ideas with details from the text. They also strengthen their writing by organizing their thoughts, using complete sentences, and communicating clearly.
Just as importantly, book reports help students develop confidence. They learn that their thoughts and opinions about a story matter. By sharing their work, students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers.
In our classroom, book reports are designed to be engaging and creative, giving students different ways to express their understanding while building skills that will support them across all subjects.
