AI and Evolving Technologies:
Artificial intelligence is yet another tool students can use to learn and study in the
classroom. Students have a more streamlined approach to learning and finding
information. This can be helpful for students, but there are errors in AI. For example,
some students use it to look up answers and find that AI summarizes incorrectly or gives
completely false information. This is something students may need guidance on in their
future learning. Finding out how to use AI as a tool, but also use filters on it so one can
get correct information. Additionally, as an educator AI can also be a great tool. It can
create assignments quizzes and test that all fit certain reading levels. Again, just like for
students, educators have to be able to discern what AI does correctly and incorrectly. I
have found on multiple occasions that AI is flat out wrong. This could be a computing
issue or a generation problem, but these problems do exist and can be glaring at times. It
is essential as educators that one can discern what AI does correctly and incorrectly so
that one can create assignments or other supplemental materials that actually help
students learn.
