Happy Saint Andrew’s Day everyone! This is an important day for all Scottish people.
Saint Andrew was one of Jesus' disciples, and the brother of Peter. Both he and Peter were fishermen. Andrew travelled with Jesus and saw him carry out many miracles. After Jesus died, Andrew travelled to Poland, Russia and Greece to talk to people about Jesus and all of the amazing things that he had done. Some people did not like Andrew talking about Jesus and sadly, he was killed because of this, on a cross in the shape of an ‘x’.
To celebrate Saint Andrew’s Day, have a go at some of the activities below!

Activity 2 - In Scotland, there are many festivities held on St. Andrews day, including a Ceilidh - where people take part in Scottish country dancing.

This week, we have been learning about weddings!

Activity 2 - Can someone at home share any pictures of themselves or your family at weddings? Talk about what they are wearing? What are they doing?
This week, we have been learning about addition.

Activity 1 - Collect 5 objects from around your home (this could be anything from toys to fruit). Practise addition by telling your child two numbers and encouraging them to see how many they have altogether. Together you could say the number sentence. For example- 3+1=4.
Activity 2 - Have a go at the addition questions below. Remember, you need to count how many you have altogether. You may want to use some objects to help you.
Can you create some props of 2 people? You could use lolly sticks, or cut out a template of a person. You could colour them in or use paper and other materials to make them.
