Take a close look at the picture, you will see two pictures of a dentist and a girl. There are some differences in the pictures, can you spot them and tell your family how they are different?
Dance and clap along to the patterns in this song.
Click on the picture to take you to a fun game for making patterns.
Today we would like you to make your own set of teeth from using and egg box. Put some pieces of tissue or paper between the teeth and use a toothbrush to brush them away.
Ask an adult to cut the bottom of a bottle off. You can pretend these are teeth. Put some marks on them with paint or felt tip.
Use a toothbrush to brush the marks off.

With your dolls and teddies today, you could pretend that you are a midwife or maternity doctor.
Check your toys over to see if they are healthy. Do they need medicine?
Today you could pretend to be a doctor or nurse. You can make your own stethoscope and listen to your patients heart.

Dough Disco
Today we would like you to do some dough disco/dancing. Get some dough out and follow what they are doing in the video. This is really good for your fine motor skills.
Maths - measuring
Use something from around your house to measure the people in the picture e.g. some lego or duplo bricks. Can you count how many bricks tall they are? Can you find other things to measure around the house? Which one is tallest? Which one is smallest?

This afternoon we are going to start something called the KRA Digital Detox Thursday where we will be trying to have one afternoon when we are not using technology. Get your instruments ready and lets have a dance to the 'Music Man'.

As we are learning about people who help us, we are going to think about how we can be helpful to others.

Make your own x-ray
You will need some dark paper, flour or icing sugar and some earbuds.
Put your arm on the paper and sprinkle the flour or icing sugar over. Then stick some earbuds on to look like bones.
Germs experiment
Add some pepper to a bowl of water. We are going to pretend that the pepper is lots of germs. Put your finger in to see how many germs sticks to it. Now get some soap and and put it over another finger. Dip the soapy finger into the germs, and then see what happens this time. This experiment will show us just how important it is to wash our hands. Click the picture to watch the experiment on Cbeebies.

Remember, if you log on to Reading eggs and listen to a story, you will get a lovely Cadbury’s Cream Egg.

Physical Activity
Today we are looking at patterns using actions. After you join in with the action song, try to make up your own patterns of movement or sounds.
Creative and Fine Motor skills
As it is Chinese New Year today, see if you can make a Chinese paper fan. You will need to fold the paper over and back. You could decorate the paper too.
Maths
Click on the link to play a Chinese dragon game. See if you can order the numbers. Start with ordering 1 to 5.

Maths and exercise together.
Count to 20 and workout. Copy the movements as you count.
Watch the video of the dragon dancing to celebrate Chinese New Year. The dragon follows the ball. Can you find a ball and ask a family member to move it around as you follow it?
Plank challenge
Have you remembered to do your challenge for Mr Pedley? Hold the plank position for as long as you can. Send in the time to us and we will let Mr Pedley know. Maybe we will beat year 6!
Following on from the dragon dance video, we would like you to see if you could make your own dragon. See if you can find some boxes to use.
We are learning all about internet safety this week. Watch the video and talk to your family about how we can keep ourselves safe when using tablets, computers or phones.
Can you draw a picture of you keeping safe when using the internet? Maybe you could draw the penguin too.
Yesterday we had the story of Nian the monster who used to appear every new year in a village in China. He would eat all of their food and damage the village. Can you make a playdough model of Nian the monster?

Good morning everyone. We hope you had lots of fun in the snow yesterday!
Today is Wednesday. Think about what you did yesterday. What day was it? Can you think which day it will be tomorrow? Try to sing along to the days of the week song and do the actions too!

Today we would like you to make your own Cherry Blossom pictures. Paint some lines for the twig. Then you can either use your fingers to paint the blossom petals, or you could use the bottom of a bottle to print the leaves. Remember to send some pictures in to eyfs@kingsrise.org
Today we would like you to find objects around your house to make patterns with. Once you have made your pattern, see if you can say the pattern, for example twig, leaf, twig, leaf, twig, leaf etc..

Today we would like one of your family members to say the names of each picture in 'robot' talk. For example d-o-g. Then you can point to the picture you think is correct. After you have done all of the pictures you can look for items around the house to 'robot' talk and guess. Have fun!

See if you can find some interesting items around your house, for example a sieve, a colundar, a whisk, some pans etc.. Place them on a table next to plain wall. Shine a light onto the objects, you could use the torch on a phone maybe? Look at the interesting shadows that are made on the wall. Move them into different places to see how the shadows change. Think about your body parts and what we do with them. For example, we can use our legs to run, jump and tip-toe. Think of how you could use your arms, shoulders, knees, hands, elbows, mouth, ears, eyes etc..

Can you make a giant gingerbread man today?
Join some pieces of paper together, lie on the floor and ask an adult to draw around you. Decorate it with different materials. You could stick different things on it, or use paint to decorate it. Hopefully it won’t run away!

Today we would like your adult to write some number 3’s and 0’s on a piece of card or paper. Cut them out and hide them around the room. Can you find them and sort them into 3’s and 0’s. Can you recognise and say the number when you find it? Maybe another member of the family can join in, one could find the 3’s another can find the 0’s. Who can find them all first?

Physical Activity
Time for our morning exercise....lets go!
Today we would like you to think about the different characters in the story. Talk about each one with your family. Tell them what they do in the story. Can you choose a character to be? Maybe you could pretend to be the wolf? Or maybe you could be the Granny? Maybe your family members could choose to be some of the other characters in your story. Have fun!
Maths
When you are out walking for exercise, see if you can spot any 0’s. They could be on doors, signs, car registration plates and many other things.
Can you make some cakes for Grandma who is still poorly? You can use this recipe or make cakes of your own choice.
Home Learning Packs
On Monday at 1.30 p.m we will be giving out the paper copy of this weeks work. Please come to the Hornsey Rd entrance and remember to bring your child with you to collect them so that we can have a little chat.
Art packs
Please bring your child on Thursday at 1.30 p.m. to collect your art packs. They are packed full of resources to use at home. See you then!

Today we would like you to use your breath to frost up a window or mirror (sorry parents). Now try to draw a s shape from yesterday. Maybe you could also think of pictures that start with s, such as sun, star, sausage, snake etc... Can you draw them too?

Oh no....something has happened to Red Riding Hood. She has gone missing, but it's nothing to do with the big bad wolf. Click on the slide to see what could have happened. It's time to investigate!
If you can print the sheets off, then you can cut the pictures out to make a map of Red Riding Hoods route through the forest to Grandma's house. Or, you could draw your own map. What do you think happened to her?

This week we have been learning all about the number zero. Have a look at the worksheet and see if you can write your own zeros on a piece of paper. Can you find the picture that is showing zero?

Look at the Red Riding Hood picture.
What is Red Riding Hood saying to Granny and what is Granny saying to her?
Is it Granny? Who else might it be and what is it doing in Granny’s bed.
What do you think will happen next?
Can you think of a way that Red Riding Hood could escape from the Big Bad Wolf?
Now you could read the story of Red Riding Hood with your family again.
Can you think of someone special in your family, maybe a Grandma, Grandpa or an uncle or aunt. Tell your family why you think they are so special. Can you draw a picture of them?
Can you find 0? Look at the different bees and see the numbers you know. Who can find 0 first?

This week we are going to be learning all about Red Riding Hood. Take a look at the picture and tell a family member about what you can see in the picture.

Today we are going to learn about the number zero.

Can you write some 0's on a piece of paper?
Below are some number songs for you to sing with your family. Remember that each one counts backwards until they get to 0. If you click on the lyrics it will take you to the Youtube video of the songs.
Phonics
Try making some different voice sounds to show different feelings and emotions, e.g. 'oh' when suprised, 'mmmm' when eating something yummy and 'sshh' when trying to be quiet! When you look at the Red Riding Hood story, see what sounds the characters could be making.
Can you make a wolf mask and pretend to be the Big Bad Wolf? A picture of this will be sent through Marvellous Me for you to print if you can, or maybe you could draw your own?

Happy Friday all! Let's get started with some exercise!
Creative Learning
Today we would like you to paint or draw a picture of one of the bears.
Which one will you choose? Mummy, Daddy or Baby bear?
You could use a fork to make the bears hair with the paint. You could follow the direction in the diagram of how to draw a bears face. Or maybe you could have your own design?
I-spy
Look at the picture and ask one of your family to help you to play an I-spy game.
For example "I spy something beginning with 't'. What can you see that begins with that sound?
This is still quite a difficult skill for the Nursery children but we will get so much better by practising. Have fun!
Click on the picture to play an online maths game. Can you give Teddy the correct amount of cakes?
Writing
Goldilocks is very sorry for entering the Three Bears House, breaking Baby bear's chair, eating the porridge and sleeping in his bed.
She has decided to draw him a picture and write to him to say sorry. Can you help her?
The children can talk about why Goldilocks should be sorry. They can then write a letter by making marks for their writing. This could consist of circles, lines, patterns or the beginning of some letter shapes. As a parent, you could then

Good Morning! So let's get started with a bit of exercise. See if you can join in with a special dance routine, telling the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Maths
Today we are going to think about counting to 3. Try to find 3 objects around you house that are the same. Can you find 3 items of different sizes? One big, one small and one middle sized.
Try drawing 3 objects, such as 3 smiley faces, 3 lines, 3 circles etc..
Can you try to write the number 3?
Phonics
Today you can play a game with your children. Ask them to find items in your house. For example can you find me a s-p-oo-n, c-u-p and others. Sound out the words for your child, see if they can listen to the sounds and put them together to make the names of the object.
Understanding the World
Porridge - If you have some porridge oats in your house, why not help an adult to make some today? In some stories of Goldilocks and the 3 bears, the porridge is too salty, or sweet for Goldilocks. Can you find some new things to add to your porridge? Maybe you could add some honey or fruit? Take some pictures or a video and send it to us! You could explain how the porridge is made, and let us know what your favourite topping is. Just watch out for Goldilocks!

Week 5 Autumn 2 - Christmas
This week we have been learning all about the Christmas story by reading a fun story called Jesus' Christmas Party. Click the video to read together at home. The children are very good at joining in.
Time for some yoga!
The children have taken home the sheet opposite. Can you ask them to draw a picture of Baby Jesus and a gift that they would like to get for him. We discussed it in class and some children said 'a dolls house', 'a garage with cars', and an 'Elsa doll'. What do you think he would like? You can bring the pictures to show us on Monday or take a photo and send it to our email address. eyfs@kingsrise.org

Home learning for Monday 30th November
Soon it will be winter time, so today we are going to look at getting ready for winter.
Today we would love you to make a snowman. Use any resources you can find around your house to make one, maybe an empty toilet roll, or cotton wool? Or maybe you could paint or draw one?
Snowman Game
Click on the game below to decorate your own snowman. Ask a family member to help you by describing the items you could put on the snowmen, for example 'Can you put the pink and blue top hat on the snowman's head?'or 'Can you put three blue buttons on his body?' You could also try to describe what you are putting on the snowman yourself.

Yoga Time
I know lots of us enjoyed the yoga last week so I thought it might be a good idea to do more today.

Maths Activity
Choose some toys to come to your party. Count how many toys you are inviting. Can you give each toy a plate, a bowl, a cup and spoon? So if you have 4 toys at your party, can you count out 4 plates etc...
Have lots of fun at your party. Remember to send us some photos. We love seeing them.

If you have the ingredients in your house, why not make a birthday cake or some cupcakes for your party? You could decorate it and share it with your toys at the party. Don't forget to save some for your family too!

Science day at Kings Rise Academy
Today is science day at school, so lets join in with our very own science experiment.
Pour a cup or two of cornflour into a bowl, and gradually add water until you have a gloopy mixture. Add a few drops of food colouring if you like, and stir again. Watch what happens to the mixture, see if you can roll it in your hand, then open your hand out. What happens?
Talk about what you see happening. Be aware... this activity is lots of fun but VERY messy!

Phonics Activity
Today we would like you to sort the presents for Kipper. Can you find out what he would like for his birthday? Ask a family member to read the words to you. When the word is in red your family member can say each sound separately, You can guess the presents by listening to the sounds. Point to the picture.
(This activity may have to be repeated a few times for the children to understand as it is a new skill for them).
Creative and Mark Making Activity
Today we would like you to make a birthday card
for Kipper. You can design it however way you would like, but there are some ideas for you here too.
Remember to write your name on the card so that Kipper knows who it is from!

Phonic Activity
Today we would like you to play a game of 'Follow the Leader'. One person chooses some body percussion such as patting their knees, clapping their hands, or clicking their fingers. The rest of the family have to copy them. Think about doing slow or fast actions with a steady beat. Take turns to be the leader. Enjoy!
Creative and Maths Activity
Can you find different items from your home and some paint to print your very own party crown?
See if you can make a pattern. Or you could find objects to stick on on the crown if you prefer.
Language and Maths Activity
Click on the pages of the slides, to see where Kipper is. Can you tell your family if Kipper is under the table or on top?
Why don't you play a game with your family, put a soft toy or one of your favourite characters in different places, ask your family to tell you where it is. Then take it in turns. Have fun!

Now it's time to have a bit of exercise. Lets do some Cosmic Yoga!

Phonic Activity
Today we would like you to play a game called 'I hear with my little ear.' Take it in turns to imitate the sound of something and guess what makes that sound. You could imitate the sounds of things found around your house, like a clock or a telephone, or of some recognisable animals such as a cat, dog, bird etc..
Reading Activity
Let's listen to the story again. Can you remember what happens? Can you remember who Kippers friends are? How does Kipper feel when he is waiting for his friends to come?

Writing and Creative Activity
Kipper made some invitations to for his party. Can you draw a picture to make your very own invitations? Can you write your name on the invites? Remember to email pictures of your work, we would love to see them.
Top Tip: The children can make marks such as lines and circles or start to draw letter shapes on their invitations, these are early writing skills. If you ask them what they want it to say, you could write it underneath.
Remember to click on the Story Time tab at the top of the page for a bedtime story read by one of the staff from Nursery or Reception.

Talk to your family about what you were like when you were born. Have a look at photographs from when you were a baby. Can you draw a picture of you as a baby?
See if you can make some bunting for Kippers birthday, draw some triangles and cut them out. You can use different coloured paper, wrapping paper, or you could decorate the triangles. Have fun!
Take a look at number 4 today. Can you count to 4? Can you try to write the number 4? Can you draw the number 4 Numberblock?

Week 3 Autumn 2 - Wedding Celebrations
This week we have been reading a book about a girl called Cinduri, an Indian Cinderella story. She gets married to the Crown Prince and they live happily ever after.
Why not try to have your own mock wedding at home. Maybe you could invite the other members of your household to join in with the ceremony?

This week we would like you to talk about any weddings you have been to or have had yourselves. Could you show the children the pictures of the weddings and talk about what happened on the day.
Many of us have different traditions and customs for our weddings and it would be lovely to hear about them.
This week we have been learning about the number 3. Watch the Numberblocks program to see all about number 3.
At a wedding the bride and groom receive 3 presents. Can you count to 3? Can you use your fingers to help? Can you make a collection of 3 things? If you have any wrapping paper, can you wrap three gifts for the wedding? Can you draw 3 presents?

Maybe you could draw a wedding cake of your own. Remember to send pictures of everything you do to us.
