Rewilding @ KAR

Friends of bees and all other buzzies!

Wildflowers

Here at KAR we are getting our raised beds ready for sowing all sorts of wild flowers in Spring 2022. Parents & friends of the school have generously donated gardening tools, pots and seeds to get us started. Please contact us if you think you could help us too!

Pollinators

Making observations of pollinators visiting the school site is a great way to see our long term impact. In Science and Maths we are collecting field data about current species. We can't wait to collect more data later in the year to see what has moved in.

Biodiversity

Our wildlife capture camera will be triggered by any movement from visiting wildlife, day or night. Our first moth trap of the year yielded a Poplar Hawk moth and a rare Swallow Tailed moth. Don't worry, no moths were harmed during capture and release! Our Eco Reps have their eyes peeled for new visiting species.
