Thanks to green energy solutions we have on site, we can produce a lot of our own energy. Our biomass boiler, using wood chips sourced from local woodland, heats the main school and Ringmer swimming pool. Our ground source heat pump also provides around 35% of the Steve Green building's energy. In fact, 70% of energy for heat is generated on-site.

Our photovoltaic (PV) arrays provide in excess of 25% of our electrical energy. Each panel produces an output so we can monitor and easily check on each panel. The data collected is displayed around the school to show students and visitors the long term impact of the PV arrays.

In a joint venture with Chargemaster, the largest charging network in the country, King's Academy Ringmer established the rapid car charger. Electric vehicles can always be found charging at the front of the school.
