Welcome to your ECT years. You are completing your training on the KGA ECF Core Induction Programme and your Appropriate Body is South Farnham Education Trust (SFET).
This website is your one-stop shop for all the information you should need.
Please refer to the KGA ECT Programme Overview below to see the key dates for your training. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are released and covered in order to attend the in-person training sessions throughout the year. Please communicate with your SLT and Cover supervisors at least 3 weeks in advance of the date and follow your school's policy for such arrangements.
Compulsory in-person, trust wide training dates for 2025-26 are listed below. Ensure you have followed your school's cover process.
ECT Year 1:
ECT Induction Day - 12th September 2025
ECT1 End of Year Training Day - 9th July 2026
ECT Year 2:
ECT2 In-Person Training Day - 12th November 2025
ECT2 End of Year Training Day - 3rd July 2026
You will receive an email invitation to these events with full details of location, timings and requirements. You may be required to travel to other academies for these events and your induction tutor will support you with organising transport if necessary.
All ECTs have three assessment points throughout the year, two of these are progress reviews and at the end of the year there is a formal/final assessment.
The assessment deadlines for 2025-2026 are:
Progress Review 1: Friday 28th November 2025
Progress Review 2: Friday 6th March 2026
Formal/Final Assessment: Tuesday 30th June 2026
These dates are specific to those ECTs on a standard September - July schedule. If you started at a different point in the year, your assessment type will be adjusted accordingly and you will be informed of this by your induction tutor.
The ECT (Early Career Teacher) assessment will be compiled by the school's induction tutor. This assessment form will incorporate information gathered from various sources, including the ECT, the mentor, subject/phase lead, and, when relevant, the progress lead. This data will be thoroughly reviewed to inform the report. The information will be collated via a Google form and will be sent out to the relevant people from the central team at least four weeks in advance of the assessment deadline. It is important that all contributors to reports adhere to the individual deadlines they are given for reporting to the induction tutor in order that the process is not delayed and the Appropriate Body's final deadlines are met.
