iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine) is a synthetic biology competition. Every year, teams tackle a problem with synthetic biology. KhanLab-BayArea is currently the only active high school iGEM team in all of Northern California. Our team is based in Khan Lab School, a school founded by Sal Khan, better know as the creator of Khan Academy. We encourage non-Khan Lab School students to join our team.
