ESF Connect is a new alumni platform that allows you to engage and connect with alumni from KGV School and across all of the ESF system.
Already on the platform are more than 3000 alumni each representing their own ESF story and journey. We have representatives from a variety of universities, industries, and professions; the connections you can make on the platform are further enhanced as fellow Alums of the same system. No matter where in the world you end up…there is an ESF alum there! We would like to offer you a few basics that will be explained or specific training will be provided in future grad workshops.

This course gives you easy access to the invaluable learning techniques used by experts in art, music, literature, math, science, sports, and many other disciplines. We’ll learn about the how the brain uses two very different learning modes and how it encapsulates (“chunks”) information. We’ll also cover illusions of learning, memory techniques, dealing with procrastination, and best practices shown by research to be most effective in helping you master tough subjects.
It is useful for students looking for advice and tips on how to manage their financials. The info also works for students who are not studying in the US.
The speaker also does a great job in trying to explain challenging terms in a way that might be more relatable and entertaining to the students.
Financial Planning for Young Adults (FPYA), developed in partnership with the CFP Board, is designed to provide an introduction to basic financial planning concepts for young adults. The FPYA course is organized across eight separate modules within a 4-week window. Topics covered include financial goal setting, saving and investing, budgeting, financial risk, borrowing and credit. Because financial planning is such a personal topic, you will be encouraged to define your own financial goals and objectives while we discuss concepts and provide tools which can be applied in helping you reach those goals.
Social psychologist Thomas Curran explores how the pressure to be perfect – in our social media feeds, in relationships, at work – is driving a rise in mental illness, especially among young people.
Through his talk, you’ll learn more about the science and causes of this phenomenon and how we can create a culture that celebrates the joys of imperfection, with a 30-minute Q&A session at the end.
Thomas Curran is assistant professor in the department of psychological and behavioural sciences at LSE.
