Schedule Change Policy for the 2025-2026 School Year:
Course selection should be carefully considered at the time of registration with your counselor. A schedule reflects a commitment from both the student and the school. PLAN FOR NO CHANGES.
Because the master schedule is based on student course requests, changes to these requests damage our ability to match courses with requests. A student may change his/her course requests for the following school year by February 13, 2025 . Students registering for a year-long course are obligated to remain in that course for the entire school year, regardless of grades received the first semester. Schedule changes will not be made to accommodate a request for a specific teacher.
THERE WILL BE NO SCHEDULE CHANGES UNLESS:
A required course is missing.
There is an obvious computer mistake.
Courses are dropped from the schedule due to lack of demand.
Study halls need to be balanced (one per semester)
An accommodation is needed for injury, illness, or other medical emergencies.
Students with scheduling concerns are encouraged to reach out to their counselor via email. Parents with scheduling concerns are encouraged to work with their student to contact their counselor
KHS Families,
It is never too early to think about scheduling for the upcoming school year! Ms. Atkinson and Mr. Gallion will visit classes to present important information to students from in late January. Both high school counselors will assist each student with putting in their schedule requests at the beginning of February. Each student will be encouraged to have a conversation with their parents about these requests before requests are locked for all high school students on February 13th.
On January 30th, we will hold our 8th Grade Parent Night at 5:00 and our CCP Information Night at 6:00 in the KHS Cafetorium.
