For the Rainbow Garden גַן הַקֶשֶת , Shorashim (Gr. K-1) students first learned all the colors of the rainbow in Hebrew. They then explored the story of Noah to understand the Torah explanation for the rainbow. They learned that after the Flood, God told Noah that God would never again send a flood or destroy the Earth. God said the rainbow would be the sign of this promise בְּרִית between God and all the creatures of the world. They wrote their own promises on fabric to be hung from the colored posts they made for the Rainbow Garden.
Their promises included:
I promise to take care of the Earth.
I promise not to fight with my brother.
What are your promises to the earth?
