I chose a spiral for Our Tradition Teaches because a spiral represents [that] life is a spiral and Jewish holidays are a spiral. Every year you celebrate the same holiday a little different.

The concept I worked on is Shabbat and Shmita. My design represents Shmita (the one year every seven years that you must not grow anything on your farm at all) because more people know about Shabbat (the one day in the seven days of the week that God rested so we all rest.). I worked really hard on this hand-made sign and I hope you enjoy it!

The Sun and Moon are connected because they're in the same solar system. The moon and Earth are related because the moon circles around the Earth. The Earth and the heart are related because Earth has lots of beings, that all have a heart. The sun and heart are related because the sun is always helping humans and animals by giving them sunlight, and hearts are always working, giving the world love. I think that's always been repeating over and over again. The peace sign in the middle is to remind us that no matter what, we'll always have peace in the world.

My sign represents food justice. It's connected to my picture because when I think of food justice, I picture hungry people desperate for a fresh meal and I picture them getting the crate that I drew to feed their selves and their family.

My linocut is Sharing Abundance. Two hands are coming together and giving food, money, and shelter. The other hand is receiving them.
