A 10% penalty per day is applied to late work.
If a student is absent due to illness, they must show a doctor's note in order not to get penalized for late work or a parent/guardian must reach out to their student's teacher via phone call or email as soon as student returns to school in order to avoid any complications with the student's grade.
A student has the same amount of excused absent days to make up the work without penalty. For example, if a student is absent two days, once returning, that student has two days to submit their missed work and receive full credit. After the two days, the work will receive a 10% penalty per every day it's late.
If work is more than one week late, the maximum credit is 50%
All assignments are locked one week after being published; however if a student is absent due to illness, will receive additional time. We also follow guidelines given for students with IEPs.
Most teachers use Canvas so students and parents/guardians can access assignments and up-to-date grades on a regular basis.
Mr. Meza posts his assignments on Google Classroom, but his up-to-date grades can be found on Synergy.
All teachers post grades on Synergy for report cards during: progress, quarter and semester grades.
If a student is absent, they can access assignments on Canvas or Google classroom.
