The Common App enables students to apply to several schools nationwide at one time. Recommended for students applying to schools that require an essay or letter(s) of recommendation and more than one school.
Some schools will direct students to use the common app, but many schools have their own applications. If you are not sure where to apply, use a college search engine. Once you find a college that is a good fit for you, go the colleges website, and find the Apply button!
When you apply to a college, you are creating an account with that school, make sure to use your personal email and remember your password. Check your email to see the status of your application!
Schools will need your social security number to match your college application with your FAFSA account; the FAFSA makes college more affordable!
If you submitted your college applications through the Common App:
Connect your Schoolinks account to your Common App account
This will allow your guidance counselor to submit your transcripts and recommendation letters on your behalf to the schools you applied to
If you applied directly to your college:
Log into your school Gmail account
Search for Parchment in your Gmail
Select any email from Parchment, scroll down to find and select the green bar that says Finish Setting Up your Parchment Account
Create your Parchment account and send your transcripts to the colleges you applied to for free!
