College Planning
Xello
Xello is a self-exploration and planning program, which helps scholars of all ages discover the future pathway that is right for them, whether it involves a trade, college, university, entrepreneurship, or other training. With this tool’s help, each student is able to create an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) as required by the state that will help the student identify and progress toward specific goals and careers.
KHEAA/KEES
Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) is a valuable resource for information about planning your future, going to college, and paying for college. Each month, KHEAA releases an online newsletter, The College Connection, at the following link: (College Connection). To check out all of the information and services KHEAA provides, please go to the main page at www.kheaa.com. In addition, all students should create an account to access a statement of their yearly KEES money to check for accuracy.
ACT Profile
ACT Profile is a new free, online tool that helps students answer the college and career planning question: “What do I want to do?” ACT Profile delivers inventories of Interests, Abilities, and Values, used together to suggest relevant occupations and majors. ACT Profile includes a number of features not traditionally included in college and career planning programs. Accounts belong to the individual, for life.
CollegeBoard (SAT)
The CollegeBoard offers a variety of resource which allow a student to create a personalized account. This account is linked with SAT, PSAT and AP tests that the student takes. In addition, there are interest inventories and college match planner within the program.

Schoology
an integrated learning management solution that provides course management, mobile learning, and support for system-wide communication. Schoology enables our students, parents, and teachers to engage with learning materials and their school community from the classroom and beyond. Parent engagement has a direct correlation to student success. Students with engaged parents are more likely to have higher self-esteem, lower absenteeism, and earn high grades or test scores.
Admissions Testing/Prep
ACT
Colleges use ACT scores for admissions and merit-based scholarships. The test is comprised of 4 required tests and an optional essay (check with your university of application to see if they require the essay). English, Math, Reading, Science Reasoning. The test is 2 hours, 55 minutes (without essay) and 3 hours, 40 minutes (with essay). It contains 4 reading passages, 1 science section testing your critical thinking skills (not your specific science knowledge), and a mathematics section of Arithmetic, Algebra I & II, Geometry and Trigonometry. You can use a calculator on all math questions. Scored on a scale of 1–36
CollegeBoard (SAT)
Colleges use SAT scores for admissions and merit-based scholarships. The test is comprised of 3 main sections: Reading, Writing & Language, Math. There is an optiona Essay (check with your university of application to see if they require the essay). The test is 3 hours (without essay) and 3 hours, 50 minutes (with essay). This includes 5 reading passages and a mathematics section covering Arithmetic, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry and Data Analysis. Some math questions don't allow you to use a calculator. Scored on a scale of 400–1600.
TorchPrep
TorchPrep is an ACT face-to-face test prep program. This program has proven to help many students increase their ACT scores. This is an optional program that families can choose to pay and participate in before any ACT test.
Khan Academy
Khan Academy is an online educational resource that offers assistance in multiple subject areas. In 2015, Khan Academy partnered with the CollegeBoard to create a personalized SAT test prep experience. Students can create an account and work through SAT preparation modals to prepare them for an upcoming testing experience.
