Day 5Societal Impacts of AI

Do Nothing for 2 Minutes

When we participate in activities online, it is easy to start a video and let it run while you flip to another tab and work on something else.  Let's take a two minute breathing break and do nothing for 2 minutes.  Take your hands off your keyboard/mouse/device and just be in the moment.  Reflect on things we have learned about AI to this point before we dive into learning about some of the societal impacts of AI.

Below is a slide deck to not only help you learn more about today's content focus, but can also be used for a mini-lesson with students (you may need to modify based on the age of your students, but serves as a starting point).  It will include part 1 from above (ENGAGE) as well as part 3 from below (EXTEND).

Note: When viewing the presentation in slide view in Google Slides, make sure to check the "Speaker Notes" section for any sources cited, comments, or additional information.

Explore some of the unplugged AI lessons. What lessons or tools stand out to you as being helpful or engaging for your students to help them understand AI a little better? What would you add to the list?
