The following is a rough draft of our schedule and accompanying information for the Thespy competition. Please use this information to help you stayed informed for planning purposes. This will be updated once we've finished registering for the event.
Leave KHS for Capital High School in Olympia, via school bus, at 6 am
Arrival and Registration 8:00-8:45
Opening Ceremonies 9:00-9:20
Session 1 9:25-10:40
Session 2 10:55-12:10
Lunch 12:10-1:10
Session 3 1:15-2:30
Session 4 2:45-4:00
Closing/STO 4:05-4:30
Dinner (usually at Red Robin) 4:45 PM
Arrive at KHS via school bus by 8:30 PM
Field Trip Conduct Expectations
Students are expected to:
Show responsibility, self-discipline, and self-respect.
Respect the rights, dignity, and safety of everyone in the group.
Follow all school district policies, procedures, and staff instructions.
Actively participate in the educational opportunities provided during the trip.
Avoid actions that disrupt the learning environment or interfere with the rights of others.
Conduct themselves in a way that reflects positively on themselves and Kelso High School.
To maintain a safe and respectful environment, the following items are strictly prohibited:
Alcohol, drugs, or any illegal substances.
Tobacco products, including vapes and e-cigarettes.
Weapons or any items that could be considered dangerous.
Fireworks, lighters, or other flammable materials.
Inappropriate or offensive materials (e.g., images, clothing, or language).
Bringing any prohibited items or engaging in behavior resulting in disciplinary action may lead to removal from the field trip or exclusion from future school activities. What to Bring/Wear:
All students, regardless of whether or not they are competing, will wear performance blacks.
Clean and presentable black performance attire meets the following requirements:
No athletic wear, no rips, tears, logos, etc.
Shoes must be black.
If wearing shorts/skirts/dresses: black or skin toned nylons or tights must be worn.
For those performing: hair is secured back, out of the face.
Students are encouraged to wear their Thespian pins.
A small backpack or bag for carrying items during the day, such as:
Sack lunch
A refillable water bottle
Money for dinner
Cellphone
Any prescribed medications (must have proper documentation for all prescriptions).
Deodorant/toothbrush/hairbrush
What to Leave Behind:
To prevent loss or theft, we recommend leaving the following items at home:
Expensive jewelry, watches, or accessories.
Large amounts of cash.
Electronics other than cell phones (e.g., gaming consoles, tablets, laptops).
Valuables that are irreplaceable or not essential for the trip.
