Rayna DeYoung is a performer and teacher currently based in Texas. An avid performer, Rayna has experience performing as principal with wind ensembles, orchestras, jazz bands, and pit orchestras in Texas, Arkansas, and Massachusetts. Rayna has taught private music lessons for saxophone and piano for six years through programs like the Searcy Community School of Music and the Youth and Family Enrichment Center (YOFES) in Boston. She was also a teaching artist with the New England Conservatory's Community Performances and Partnerships Program and has worked with the music faculty at Margarita Muniz Academy. She currently is the saxophone instructor for the middle and high school saxophone students of Birdville ISD and the Fossil Ridge HS cluster. In 2022, she graduated with her master's degree in saxophone performance at the New England Conservatory, studying under Kenneth Radnofsky. She also attended Harding University where she earned a dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in humanities and a BA in music, studying under Dr. Andrew Cook.
Rayna plays on a Yamaha Custom EX alto and soprano saxophones, with Vandoren Optimum mouthpieces and on Vandoren V12 cane reeds for alto and Legere signature reeds for soprano.
