In the KISD Library Book Selection Criteria - Grade Level/Age Appropriate page, the elementary school column indicates “Reviews include range from grades PK - 5.” Any book reviews that include 5th grade may be considered. After determining whether the reviews include the grade levels from the Selectin Criteria Guidelines for the grade levels you serve you will need to evaluate the title against the Content Guidelines Rubric to determine whether the book needs to be moved or kept.
This sheet is reserved for you to add books and notes for those titles that you are not sure about or you have questions about. Notes can be added especially if you have a concern or question about a book and others can give input. You can add a note section to your campus sheet as well, so we can track those books that do specifically violate a content guideline.
