Kimberly Wilson is the Learning Coordinator of Dyslexia Services in Keller ISD. She studied Shelton Academic Language Approach at Shelton School in Dallas to become a Certified Academic Language Therapist. Kimberly has been in education for 17 years and a Language Therapist for 11 years. During this time, she provided therapy to over 375 students in Keller ISD at the elementary through high school levels. Kimberly evaluates the dyslexia program and guides 51 dyslexia specialists from elementary through high school. Over 1,450 students are served each year by her specialists. She is the first coordinator who is a CALT and Licensed Dyslexia Therapist.

Accomplishments

• IMSLEC Innovator award in the category of Outstanding School Administrator
• Launched Read Naturally Program districtwide (encourage student growth in reading fluency and comprehension)
• Reestablish the implementation of MTA programming to ensure fidelity across all campuses.
• Organized semi-annual parent nights to increase parent involvement and dyslexia awareness.

Future Forecasting (What's Next?)

• All students requiring Dyslexia services will be served through interventions delivered by therapists.
