1. Residence Card
Under the law in Japan, those who have been issued a residence card need to carry the card with them at all times.
2.Student ID Card (will be provided during the student orientation)
3.Individual Number Card (My Number Card)
4.Emergency Contact Form (also provided during the student orientation.)
The form has a list of emergency phone numbers along with useful Japanese expressions.
You will need to present your Student ID Card when you:
Take semester-end examinations
Purchase student commuter pass
Enter the university libraries
Request issuance of various certificates
Issue the Student Travel Fare Discount Certificate
If you lose your Student ID Card, you will be charged 2,000 yen for re-issuance.
Making a photocopy of your Student ID Card will be against Keio University's regulation.
Students can purchase a Student Commuter Pass (TSUGAKU TEIKI KEN) with a student discount.
1. Obtain a hard copy of the “Student Commuter Certificate” from the following URL

In order for the Student Commuter Certificate to be available, you need to submit the "Residence Card Information Submission Form".
After submitting the form above, it will take several days for your certificate to be available.

Credit transfer is totally up to your home university.

It is your responsibility to confirm and bring home all of the required documents.
If you have any documents issued by your home university that require the student exchange coordinator's signature, (e.g. Learning Agreements, Confirmation of Stay, etc.), please request the completion of the documents though the following form.

It takes 5 business days for the document to be issued after applying.
Be aware that documents will not be processed on weekends and national holidays. Make sure to bring the documents well in advance.
We can sign your Learning Agreement only after your official course registration has been confirmed at Keio.
Keio University has various support groups for international students which are officially approved by the International Center. These groups are organized by current students and alumni and will help you with your life in Japan on- and off-campus.

For one semester students:
You CANNOT stay in Japan after September 21 with your student visa as your student status at Keio is only valid until the date.
You are required to leave Japan by September 21 even if your Residence Card states your “period of stay in Japan” is “one year”.
Special Re-entry Permit
-If you re-enter Japan within one year (or by the expiration date of the status of residence) after leaving Japan provisionally, and continue the same activity in Japan, "special re-entry permit" is applied.
-Must indicate your intention of re-entry on the Embarkation Card
What you need to bring
-Passport
-Residence Card.
If your permitted period of stay will expire within 1 year of your departure, make sure to re-enter Japan before the expiration date.
At departure, be sure to check the specified box of the Embarkation Card for re-entry and present your Residence Card.
