Bio

Hello,  My name is Mr. Shepherd.  I've been teaching for approximately 25 years.  During that time I've taught in Massachusetts, Arkansas, Tennessee, and New Hampshire.  I've taught 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade and have been an assistant principal in a middle school and most recently at New London Elementary School here in our district.

My wife Laura and I have two children, a son who is in college and a daughter in elementary school. 

I love teaching math because it was a I struggled with in High School/College and I'm passionate about helping young people so they don't have to struggle like I did.  

I entered teaching through a circuitous route.  I had many jobs growing up from being a gas station attendant (like the old days where I pumped the gas and cleaned the windows), working at a large electronics store, as a wrangler on a ranch in Colorado, and a counselor in a youth detention facility before finding my way to the classroom.
