Fever greater than 100 (check temperature before giving fever-reducing medication)
Severe or persistent cough, frequent continuous coughing, or breathing concerns/wheezing
A Rash that is new, unexplained, worsening or rapidly changing, or spreading, especially if your child has other symptoms of illness or fever.
Extreme fatigue where they are not able to participate in classroom activities.
Any breathing concerns or wheezing not controlled with prescribed asthma medication
Vomiting or frequent diarrhea.
Distracting pain from earache, sore throat, headache, or recent injury
Bacterial conjunctivitis- bloodshot eye with yellow or green discharge and crusting to eyelashes
Your child can return to school if:
Fever free x 24 hours without medication,
24 hours after the last episode of vomiting/diarrhea
If bacterial conjunctivitis can return once the prescription antibiotic drops are started and the eye is no longer draining
Symptom improvement - (ex. able to manage at school with minor congestion, occasional cough, tolerating food and fluids)
