Course Description:Â
The course will focus on writing essays in a variety of forms, including literary and media critiques. Students will focus on the basic requirements of descriptive, narrative and expository writing as well as study the mechanics and fundamentals of writing sentences, paragraphs and short papers. Emphasis will be on the organization of ideas and development of the writing process. Some work on grammar, punctuation, diction and usage will be included. Challenging reading selections will be included and sophisticated writing will be expected.
