If your student does not get a 3 or higher on any assessment they can try again on a reassessment.
Steps to a reassessment:
1) Correct the problems marked wrong from the assessment on the test correction sheet. The corrections must be done with all the work shone on the test correction page or a separate sheet of paper stapled to the assessment. An explanation of what went wrong and what you did to fix it will help me understand your thinking. Write in complete sentences and complete thoughts, the better detail how you found your mistake and what you did to fix it, will show me you truly understand. Do not erase the original work and re-do it on the test. Hand this in first so I can get an idea of what we need to work on for a reassessment.
2) Meet with me to get some support and assignments you need to finish to be able to do a reassessment.
2) If necessary complete any missing or incomplete work from the unit that was assessed.
3) If assigned complete the guided practice to show you learned the material.
4) Turn in your work and schedule a time during Student support, W.I.N., Flex, or after school to do a retake of the assessment.
The Warm Ups are a weekly assignment with number and operation skill review questions along with 2 or 3 stretch questions. They are done in class for the first 10 minutes Monday through Thursday. If they are not finished by the end of class time Thursday they become homework and are due Friday at the start of class. On Friday we review and correct the warm ups together and I collect them and put them in power school.
If you would like to improve your warm up score you can always get a blank copy Friday after we correct them for the week and redo them over the weekend. Make sure to show all your work on the page or use a separate sheet of paper stapled to the warm up! I will take the better score and enter it into power school.
Good question!
You have until the end of each marking period (Quarter) to get corrections to me. I can not go back into power school and alter grades after the marking period closes for corrections! The longer you wait the more difficult it may be to remember the subject and more assignments will start to may pile up. Try your best to get corrections to me ASAP!
