What is Social Emotional Learning?
Why is it important?
Social and emotional learning (SEL) refers to how individuals manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions. When children learn SEL strategies, they are more likely to have positive behaviors, receive better grades, and less likely to have conduct problems.
Our preschool program promotes social and emotional learning to enhance the healthy development of all students.
