Unofficial International Transcript

For the transcript to be official, the student must have the transcript evaluated by an agency from the NACES organization. We recommend WES, Spantran, IEE, or ECE. Please note that the transcript will have to be sent to us from one of those agencies, and then we will be able to process the transcript and apply it to the application.

Transfer Student Inquiry

Thank you for your interest in Kean University! To be considered a transfer student, you must have at least 18 credits. If you have 18-29 credits, you must have at least a 3.0 GPA from the transfer institution. If you have 30 or more credits, you must have at least a 2.0 GPA from the transfer institution. International Student Inquiry

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening [INSERT STUDENT NAME], 

Thank you for your interest in Kean University! I would be happy to answer your questions regarding the admissions process. Here is a list of steps that students must complete in order to be considered for admission to the University: 

1. You can apply here. Be sure to use the promo code GO2KEAN at checkout to waive the $75 application fee. We also accept the Common App, and the promo code above will work on that Common App. 

2. Request your official transcript evaluation from a NACES accredited company. Click here for the full list of accepted companies. If you will be submitting SAT scores, you may submit a general evaluation (with GPA) of your official high school (Secondary School) transcript or mark sheet. If you are not submitting SAT/ACT scored, please submit a course-by-course transcript evaluation. You can have the electric copy sent to admitme@kean.edu. 

3. Submit your completed application.

4. Send your English Proficiency exam to admitme@kean.edu or submit to Kean through the exam portal. We accept TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo exams with the following scores: 

   • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - Minimum Score: Internet-based: 79; Paper-based: 550

   • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Minimum Score: 6.0

   • Duolingo English Test - Minimum Score: 100

Please note that English proficiency test scores are only valid for two years from the date of the test. 

TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo Waiver Policy: In order to waive the TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo English Test requirement, applicants may submit the following: 

• Official documentation stating that they have completed secondary schooling from an institution where English is the language of instruction

After we have reviewed your application, you will receive your I-20 and begin the visa process.
