Catholic Charities Serve & Lift Center
They have an online shopping portal for their food pantry. This allows families to choose their own food from available nutritious selections, and meet their own taste preferences, cultural dishes, and better manage chronic medical conditions that respond to a particular diet.
A free clothing closet operated by a church in Grandview and open to all. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-6 p.m. as well as some potential Saturday hours. They may also have shoes, toys, etc.
Dress for Success Kansas City is an organization devoted to helping women achieve economic independence through support, development, and professional clothing.
Flourish furnishings collects, prepares, and distributes donated furnishings and home essentials to offer a “hand up” by meeting household furnishing needs in Kansas City’s urban and suburban communities. If you are working with a case manager, ask them to make a referral on your behalf. If you do not have a case worker please see their list of referring partner agencies.
Vouchers available for clothing, furniture, and household goods. Diaper and food banks also available.
A nonprofit in KCMO dedicated to providing clothing for youth.
Offer prom dresses and shoes for young ladies.
Take gently-used, donated beds and bedding and distribute them to Kansas City area children and families in need, free of charge.
St. Mark's United Methodist Church
Offers a community clothes closet by appointment only.
Free food for residents in the community, including meat when available, fresh produce, canned food, and dry staples will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Healthcare
Provides health screenings and wellness education for seniors.
This program offers assistance in locating community resources to support ongoing medical need; nutritional and disease prevention education; home health assessment for the homebound; flu shots. It also provides basic human dignity products that are not covered by government assistance such as soap, toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper, etc.

Housing & Utilities
Provides assistance with electricity, gas, and water bills if that utility is at risk of being shut off or has been shut off in the last 90 days.
May be able to provide rent and utility assistance.
CAC partners with Evergy, Spire, and KC Water to help individuals and families maintain the basic services of electricity, gas and water services.
Community LINC Transitional Housing
This program serves families with moderate barriers. Clients live on our campus in a fully furnished apartment, at no cost. They work with case managers and volunteers to learn financial literacy, job readiness, and various life skills.
Can provide guidance and connect you to resources to keep you in a stable housing situation, or improve it.
Evergy Economic Relief Pilot Program
This program provides those with an income at or below 200% of the current federal poverty level with a credit of up to $65 per month, for a maximum of 12 consecutive months, if you qualify.
Hillcrest Transitional Housing
Serves youth ages 16-24 and provides free rent and housing for up to 2 years for individuals, single mothers, families, and couples. Youth will receive extensive life-skills training and various other supports.
Providing emergency funding for rent or utilities, to help clients weather a temporary crisis and prevent homelessness. Assistance is limited to ONE month of rent/mortgage/utility assistance for residents of Kansas City, MO.
Pathways Transitional Living Program
Pathways is a supportive transitional housing program exclusively for motivated teens and young adults who are ready to pursue their education or career dreams, but are homeless or in foster care.
Relentless Pursuit Outreach & Recovery
The RPOR Drop-In Center is a safe, non-judgmental place for prostituted women from all backgrounds and races.
Homeless shelter in downtown KCMO that serves all populations.
Safe Place is designed to help young people in dangerous situations access safe shelter or other assistance Youth can go to any QT (Quick Trip), Mid-Continent Public Library, or fire station in the metro area and ask for “Safe Place.” Employees are trained to contact an appropriate program that will connect the youth with a safe place to go.
Provides sober living housing, job support, peer support, and mental health resources for women in recovery in Kansas City.
In addition to our emergency shelter, Synergy provides long-term housing to at-risk youth and young families who have nowhere else to turn.

AARP Senior Community Service Employment Program
AARP offers assistance to those 55 and older who are unemployed and looking for work.
Ability KC works closely with the Missouri Department of Vocational Rehabilitation to provide resources for individuals with disabilities seeking employment opportunities within their community.
Offers free employment counseling services for individuals seeking a job including job lead assistance, computer classes, resume editing, interview advice, and one-on-one job counseling,
This is a Free Pre-Apprenticeship Program for eligible candidates (age 18 onward) willing to make the career choice and embrace the construction industry workforce.

Community Services League Employment Services Program
The Employment Services Program helps you confidently pursue job market opportunities. You’ll work with an employment coach who will help you define goals and assess your situation, then provide support and encouragement as you prepare and apply for employment.
Offers a variety of programs to help break the cycle of poverty through professional development, clothing, support, & training.
A business support group community that also helps those who have been incarcerated learn how to own and operate their own businesses.
FEC offers a variety of service such as skills training, on-the-job training, career counseling, workshops, and job placement.
Great Jobs KC is dedicated to helping people who earn less than $45,000 a year and are interested in acquiring additional skills so that they may earn more. The program provides access to tuition-free job training programs in high-demand career fields.
Guadalupe Centers Workforce Development & Adult Education
This program assists low-income families in stabilizing their long-term financial perspective by providing basic services through three areas: employment coaching and career improvement, financial coaching and training, and access to public benefits.
Jewish Vocational Services Refugee Employment
JVS provides a host of services to help refugees adapt to – and succeed in – the workplace.
A comprehensive resource for those seeking employment. There are many resources related to finding and keeping employment. Additionally, there are online learning modules to help increase and/or improve your skills.

ACI is a program through the Missouri Department of Mental Health to help connect people experiencing a mental health crisis to services.
Comprehensive Mental Health Services
CMHS is the behavioral health provider for all of Eastern Jackson County and provides residential and outpatient substance use services to the Urban Core of Kansas City.
Offers a variety of services on an inpatient and outpatient basis, such as adolescent substance abuse.
First Call has many services for individuals, families, and children with substance abuse/mental health issues.
Offers a variety of help and support for those seeking to recover from substance abuse.
Offer different support groups to help people heal from the trauma of losing a loved one because of violence.
Offers mental health counseling and substance abuse prevention and treatment for children and families.
MOCSA provides counseling services free of charge to all survivors of sexual violence and their families and significant others.
NAMI offers a variety of trainings, support groups, and more to those needing assistance with mental illness.
Can help those who have substance abuse problems gets into recovery and temporary recovery housing.
ReDiscover is a nonprofit community mental health center that provides comprehensive programs and services for adults and children whose lives have been affected by mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
REHOPE (formerly Restoration House) provides comprehensive services for women and children that are victims of sex trafficking.
Solace House is a community center designed to be a nurturing place to guide children and adults through the difficult time following a death, whether sudden and unexpected or anticipated.

Synergy's trained and caring therapists offer counseling services through their residential programs and on an outpatient basis.

HOPE BUS is a KC Community Transportation initiative designed to remove the barriers of transportation between all the homeless/low-income human and social service agencies in the Kansas City area.
IRIS is a new ride-hailing service that offers free and low-cost on-demand public transit.
Jewish Family Services: JET Express
JET Express provides older adults (60+) with safe, door-to-door transportation.
Lyft offers rides free of charge to interviews, training, and/or jobs.
MO Rides is a free service that connects individuals in need of transportation assistance with available providers in their community.
Assists people who cannot afford to renew their tags, register their cars, pay insurance premiums, or get a license reinstated.
RideKC buses and RideKC Freedom are currently zero fare.
