Etta Zuber Falconer was born on November 21,1933 in Tupelo, Mississippi. She died in Atlanta, Georgia on September 19, 2002.

Her father's name was Walter A. Zuber. Her mother's name was Zadie Zuber and her sister's name was Alice Zuber. She married Dolan in 1955. Falconer had three children named Alice Falconer, Walter Falconer, and Dolan Falconer Junior.

Etta Zuber Falconer went to Tupelo Public Elementary. She graduated from Carver High School and received a Bachelor's Degree from Fisk University. She received a Master's degree from Wisconsin University, and a Ph.D from Emory University.

Etta Falconer affected the world in a really good way. She wanted to promote mathematics and science. Increasing the interest of African American females in thee subjects was important to her. She was the 11th African American Female to get her Ph.D. She inspired Fern Hunt ,Talitha Williams and Mark Dean. Etta's teacher Evelyn Granville is one of the first African American females to get a Ph.D.
