Meet the director of the CJH Choir Program!
Rachael Davis is a proud Texas native and the director of the CJH Choir Program. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Belmont University in Nashville, TN, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with a Minor in Mathematics. During her time at Belmont, she was honored with the Dr. Jerry L. Warren Chorale Scholarship and was a Keith B. Moore Classical Singers Recital Finalist. Currently, Rachael is pursuing a Master's Degree in Music Education at Lamar University.
This is her third year at CJH and her fourth year of teaching. Under her direction, students have excelled in achieving superior ratings at Solo and Ensemble, earning outstanding soloist awards, receiving Superior ratings at UIL and the 6th Grade Choral Festival, and advancing to the All-Region Choir. In addition to her work with students, Rachael is a presenter for professional development at events such as the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) convention, where she shares her expertise and passion for music education with fellow educators.
Rachael recently married her lovely husband, Nathan Davis, in November. Together, they share a home with their two adorable dogs, Minnie and Sadie. Rachael is expecting her first child, Emily, this September in 2025!
As a member of TMEA, Rachael is passionate about inspiring her students to reach their full musical potential. When she’s not in the choir room, she enjoys crocheting, reading, and attending University of Houston basketball games with her husband.
