Device Protection Insurance (DPi)

For the 2017/2018 school year, every Middle School and High School student must purchase device Insurance. The cost of the insurance is $40 (non-refundable, non-prorated) per year, per device.

The devices will be maintained by Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School's IT Staff. Only Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School's IT Staff can perform repairs on the devices. Normal part failures outside of the control of the student and device damage are dealt with differently. The judgement call is left up to the school's technology staff. If damage occurs to the device that requires a part replacement (aside from the first incident), then students are responsible for the replacement cost. Students are responsible for the general care of the Chromebook they have been assigned by the school. Chromebooks that are broken, or fail to work properly, must be reported to a classroom teacher or technology staff member as soon as possible so that they can be taken care of properly. Do not take school owned Chromebooks to an outside computer service for any type of repairs or maintenance. Once a Chromebook is damaged a loaner device will be issued while the student’s device is being repaired. Once their original device is repaired it will be returned to the student and the loaner will be collected.

The costs will be reviewed and adjusted annually per device model supported. If the device is stolen, then students are responsible for reporting this to the Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School's technology staff immediately. A replacement device will be issued to the student. The student may still be responsible for the cost of replacement.

To purchase the Device Protection Insurance ($40 annually) by either fill out the following form and bring payment to school or obtain a form from the main office and return it filled out with payment. Please have your form and payment turned in by the 3rd Monday of the school year, (DATE HERE).
