As a team, you must decide how to spend your resources. The most precious resource you have is time. Each of you can devote 10 hours a day to helping the village produce... whatever. You could focus on food or building or whatever you decide is important. But where you focus your 10 hours of effort is what your village will produce. The rest of the time is used for eating, sleeping, and maintaining your home. You may spend your time on the following tasks:
Food Production – Hunting, gathering, farming, preparation, storage, and cooking all fall under this heading. You must have food for people in your village, extra food helps a village grow.
Building - Your village will need houses, wells, paths, common spaces, etc.
Governing and Maintenance – Your village needs to be tended to. Time spent on these tasks includes seeing that everyone completes their tasks, tending to the garbage and waste needs, determining required supplies etc.
Scout – There is a big world around you, and you know very little of what is out there. How much do you want to find out? You might find resources or people to help your village, but you might find trouble.
Military – If your village has nice things, people might try to take them. How much time do you want to spend protecting your village? Or, do you want to be the taker?
As a team, you must decide how much time will be spent on each of these activities, and by whom. Make sure that your choices are made using your governing model. Also, make sure your decisions reflect what your village values as important.
In addition to considering what you want to develop in your village, you must meet each person’s requirements for survival. You may have each person do these things for him- or herself or by working as a team to produce for each other. Each person in your village requires the following time to be spent to meet their needs:
