Number Bingo!
“Number Bingo ” gives the learners additional practice recognizing numerals while them playing their favorite game: Bingo. It is a great way to provide extra repetition for the learners to recognize numbers. The number bingo game was played in the Nursery class to recapitulate the numbers from 1- 5. All the learners actively participated in the activity and enjoyed recognizing the numbers.
Finding the numbers is super fun!
Circle Time
Talk it out Tuesdays and Thankful Thursdays!
Circle time is a time to encourage positive group interactions with all the students. It can be used as a transition from one daily activity to the next, and has a clear structure. Circle time often encourages positive classroom behaviours such as putting hands up to speak, taking turns, and listening to everyone's contributions. To encourage the same in our learners a 'talk it out' session was conducted in the class wherein the learners were encouraged to come forward pick a flash card of their choice and speak a few words and sentences related to the picture. It was amazing to see how all the learners were excited to pick the card and were speaking confidently.
Teaching kids about gratitude is an important job, and a crucial part is helping children understand that gratitude is more than just saying “thank you.” Making gratitude fun and meaningful can introduce kids to a lifelong appreciation for the world around them. To make the learners aware of the quality of being grateful a 'The thankful tree' discussion was facilitated amongst the learners where they were encouraged to share about the little things that they are thankful for. Their thoughts were noted by the teachers and the learners put them up on their thankful tree.
I know what I am grateful for!
ENGLISH
I know the letter 'Hh'
Letter naming is recognizing letter shapes and associating them with a letter name. Letter-sound knowledge is determining what sounds are associated with a letter. Learners of Nursery were engaged in a fun activity where they recognised the letter 'Hh' from the other letters using a heart-shaped stamp that was dipped in color. Learners also tried to say the phonic sound of the letter 'Hh' while doing the activity.
Letter Hh, Letter Hh, where are you?.. Here I am, Here I am.. in the Hheart, in the Hhorse, in the Hhippo!
