Literacy Circle
Let's reflect on the Story..
Goldilocks and the Three Bears!
Early literacy means helping children develop a rich vocabulary, self-expression and reading comprehension. Reflection is an important tool to empower children with thoughtful thinking. When encouraged to reflect, children build skills such as questioning, memory, investigating, explaining, and consideration. Our K1 learners engaged in some reflection time after listening to the story of The Goldilocks and the Three Bears. They essayed roles of 'Imaginative Illustrators' and 'Question Seekers' while they built upon their curiosity by asking questions about the story and expressed their imagination on paper as they used the paper to draw Goldilocks, the bears, and other narratives of the story that caught their fascination.
YOGA
SUN SALUTATION
Sun salutation involves a smooth transition between successive poses. It is safe for kids to practice it regularly. This yoga practice benefits the children's physical health by toning the muscles and keeping internal organs healthy. K1 Learners performed sun salutation with guidance from their P.E. teacher.
MATH
BACKWARD COUNTING
By counting backwards, the brain is given a task to focus on something that is not related to anxious thoughts. This can help to clear the mind of anxiety, allowing the individual to stay focused and calm. By counting backwards the learners are actually keeping their thoughts in the conscious part of the brain. Our learners counted backwards numbers with the help of a gross motor activity where they jumped on the numbers as they counted them.

Our Solar System
The Solar System is made up of the Sun and eight planets. The best way to introduce the solar system to our little learners is with the help of a diorama. Learners of K1 observed how everything in the Solar System revolves around the Sun and that Sun is a star ( a massive ball of hot gas that gives off light and heat). There are eight planets that orbit around the Sun. They also learned facts related to different planets that make them unique.
