Celebrating International Biodiversity & World Bee Day!
With wide eyes, curious minds, and a sprinkle of wonder, our Early Years learners embarked on an exciting journey to celebrate International Biodiversity and World Bee Day! EY1 children explored the beauty of animal life by creating colourful animal collages and transformed into buzzing honeybees to understand the magical process of pollination through playful enactment. EY2 learners engaged in a thoughtful habitat sorting activity, identifying safe and unsafe places for bees, nurturing empathy and environmental awareness. EY3 dove into nature’s creativity by making herbarium art with a variety of leaves, bringing their leaf characters to life through storytelling. They also stepped into the shoes of a beekeeper—observing the world through a bee’s perspective and drawing their reflections. Through these immersive activities, our learners discovered the wonders of biodiversity, the vital role of bees in our ecosystem, and how each of us can contribute to protecting our planet’s precious life forms.
Water Play Day Fun!
Water Play Day was celebrated with great excitement and joy! The Early Years learners had a blast as they splish-splashed their way through a series of exciting and refreshing activities.
From sensory play to physical challenges and creative art, each station offered unique opportunities for exploration, movement, and discovery.
The water-based activities weren’t just about fun—they supported the development of essential skills in our young learners.
EY1 enjoyed pom pom magic, color splash with crepe and stretch & snap rubber band fun.
EY2 took part in the sponge relay race, sailboat race, wiggle & roll water balloon challenge and made stress balls with orbeez.
EY3 had a blast with “the shark bit my cup” game, water droplet painting and other creative water-based play.
The atmosphere was filled with laughter, excitement, and curiosity as children eagerly participated in each activity.
These hands-on experiences helped develop fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. They also promoted teamwork, patience, and self-confidence in a joyful and engaging way.
Water Play Day was not only a celebration of fun but also a wonderful opportunity to make learning meaningful and memorable—one splash at a time!
Elmer's Day
On Elmer Day, children participated in a range of joyful and meaningful activities inspired by Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, a story that celebrates diversity, individuality, and kindness. The class made colourful Elmer faces using paper dishes, enhancing their creativity and fine motor skills. In the “Mirror Talk” activity, children looked into mirrors and shared what makes them special, promoting self-awareness and confidence. They described Elmer using adjectives like colourful, cheerful, kind, and unique to build vocabulary. Through a maze and shadow-matching activity, they developed problem-solving and visual recognition skills. In the “Elmer Finds His Colours” craft, they decorated Elmer with bright paper squares, reinforcing pattern and colour recognition. We celebrate Elmer Day to help children understand that everyone is special in their own way and that being different is something to be proud of.
Democratic Republic of Children's Council Elections 2025-26
"Democracy came alive at Kanakia Kids as the Early Years learners enthusiastically participated in their own Children's Council Election." With great excitement, the young voters selected their favorite leaders from a panel of ten ministers, which included the Education, Energy and Power, Science and Technology, Law and Justice, Environment, Agriculture, Information and Broadcasting, Health and Physical, and Finance Ministers.
Learners actively participated by preparing their voter ID cards, casting their ballots, and immersing themselves in a real-life simulation of the voting process. This hands-on activity not only made learning fun but also helped them understand the essence of democracy, the importance of leadership, and the value of making thoughtful choices.
By exploring the roles and responsibilities of different ministers, children gained insight into how elections function and how every vote counts in shaping a community. It was a day full of excitement, empowerment, and exploration — building the foundation for responsible citizenship in the years to come.
