Eat fresh, live fresh.
Pretend Play encourages imagination and creativity. By absorbing themselves in an imaginative game, whatever it may be, children are given the opportunity to practice using their imagination, to exercise their brain and train it to think creatively and to learn how to think for themselves. Our little Nursery learners were happy to be a part of the pretend play which was done in the class. Teachers acted as vegetable sellers and the learners were encouraged to do lots of vegetable shopping. They also used fake money which helped them to understand the use of money and enjoyed their shopping.
I loved shopping the fresh veggies!
MATH
Semicircle
One of the earliest things that children learn is shapes. They begin to learn about the shapes around them at a very young age. As children grow older, they learn more about shapes and their attributes, or characteristics. This is an important process, as shapes play a big role in our everyday lives. Providing toddlers and preschoolers with lots of practice with shapes helps them create a foundation for future learning. Learners were introduced to the shape semicircle in the class. They were then taken to the play lab, where they were encouraged to hunt for the semicircle shaped toys, objects, manipulatives, etc.
Semicircle all around!
Building a city!
Blocks can be used as a powerful learning tool and helps children to develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Learners built a tower using colourful blocks according to the numbers 1-5 mentioned on a sheet which helped them to develop their number value skills.
I can build my own city!
Theme
Let's go fishing!
As a part of a recapitulation of the theme - water, learners were introduced to the different uses of water. They even learned about the importance of water in our lives. As a part of an extended activity, a small set-up of a fishing pond was installed in the class wherein our learners had fun exploring water and fishing while also developing their fine motor skills.
Fishing is fun!
Sports
Taking part in sports is important for children as it reduces stress and enhances their mood. Sports build healthy bones and muscles, increase fitness, improve sleep, and help them socialize. Our learners were elated while having a warm-up session before the running race and looked forward and participated with great enthusiasm.
