Sticks and Shapes
Mathematics is an important part of learning for our young learners in early years and receiving a good ground in math is an essential life skill. From an early age, our learners are noticing and experimenting with different shapes. Exploring 2D shapes in the classroom builds upon mathematical knowledge such as problem-solving skills, to develop their own spatial awareness and a foundation in developing the concepts required for measurement and geometry. 2D stands for 2-dimensional shapes which are flat and only have two dimensions: length and width. Our learners were encouraged to create 2D shapes using popsicle sticks in a fun hands-on activity to reinforce their learning of different 2D shapes.
Let's have fun with shapes.

Appreciating the world by learning about the landforms
Teaching learners about landforms was an exciting and engaging experience. These concepts are important as this will help our learners to understand about the diversity of our world and gain an appreciation that will make them want to preserve it for future generations. Learning to draw different landforms was a vital activity for our learners to know about the natural world around them and to enhance their critical thinking skills, develop observational skills, and improve their creativity. By drawing simple landforms like mountains and valleys, they learned how Mother Earth’s landscape is shaped. It enhanced our learners' artistic skills and also captured memories of their visits to favorite places as they were observant and were able to register lots of details in their ever-growing memory.

I spy hidden sight words
To become a great reader, learners must master their sight words. It is essential to learn sight words and to continue to practice them. Our learners are looking at these words on a daily basis, so that they will learn them quickly. Repetition is the key to fluency (reading smoothly, without a lot of pauses), so practicing these words over and over will help to achieve the goal. Learning is always more effective when it’s turned into a game! I Spy Hidden Sight Words was a game set up to engage our young ones in learning and practicing sight words in a new and different way. Learners were all engaged and engrossed in finding and coloring the sight words while this activity also helped in improving their spelling, vocabulary and memory.
Let's spy to search the sight words we learned at class.

Atelier
Our learners have had a wonderful day in the atelier creating an image of themselves through clay. They learned the techniques of moulding, squeezing, cutting, etc.
Learners made sculptures by the "synthetic" method of sticking lots of pieces together like bodies, legs, hands, and head. Learners enjoyed creating these unique pieces of artwork.
Clay can be dirt in the wrong hands, but clay can be art in the right hands.
Our Artistic journey with clay let's play some clay art.
Yoga
Sitting yoga postures will help learners to improve focus and concentration, enhances creativity, improves sleep. Including some isometric holds into the program can be an easy and effective way to solve this issue. Training with isometric holds has been shown to increase motor unit recruitment, firing rate and overall body control and stability. Our learners performed Yoga poses during their Yoga session.
