At Te Kamo High School, we believe that physical activity is the heartbeat of a great international experience. Whether you are an elite athlete or just want to try something new, we provide the platform for you to improve your fitness, promote a healthy lifestyle, and—most importantly—build lifelong friendships.
On-Site: School-Led Sports & Activities
Te Kamo High School offers a wide variety of sports right here on our campus. Students can choose to join Competitive Teams (playing against other Northland schools) or our popular Whānau Teams, where students compete in a friendly, social environment within the school.
Sports often available on-site include:
Winter Sports - Term 2 and 3
● Rugby & Netball: The staples of Kiwi school life.
● Football (Soccer): Competitive and social leagues.
● Basketball & Volleyball: High-energy indoor sports.
Summer Sports - Term 1 and 4
● Touch Rugby: A fast-paced, social New Zealand favourite.
● Surfing: A dedicated surf development program
● Volleyball: The perfect faced passed team sport
● Swimming: With our own school pool, this can be used during PE or swimming sports
Course Curriculum:
● Outdoor Education: Our specialized program includes kayaking, rock climbing, and tramping (hiking).
● Physical Education: learn about your body, health and nutrition whilst getting active in our PE classes
● Kapa Haka: learn traditional Māori song and dance to get a true taste of culture
