An abstracted landscape of plantlife and various biomorphic forms. The painting is visually inspired by archeological photographs of rediscovered ancient inscription stones in South America and Southeast Asia, which show large pillar-like objects with ancient texts engraved into them surrounded by lush tropical forests.
The painting features abstracted text derived from the Pallava and Arabic scripts, which were writing systems used in the past to write the Malay language before switching to the Latin alphabet. The use of abstracted text throughout the painting evokes a sense of lost knowledge and cultural disconnection from the past.
