My approach to therapy is exploratory - this means that I work with you to explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviors with an open mind and non-judgement. Together, we use this knowledge to gain deeper understanding of you and your relationships with others in order to create more fulfilling lives. We don’t try to erase your wounds, but rather try to understand them and use them to create a world that you works for you.
While I have an eclectic approach based on the needs of my client, I often work through the lens of narrative therapy, trauma informed therapy, and rational emotive behavioral therapy.
I do my best to be myself in session, which is someone who is laid back, warm, and humorous (at least, I like to think so). I consider it a privilege to work with individuals on improving themselves and their lives
Outside of work, I also enjoy textile crafts like knitting, cooking, and listening to audiobooks my cat.
I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State. I graduated from Marist College with my bachelor's degree in Psychology and Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling. I have held both clinical and supervisory positions, as well as teaching and supervising master's level counseling students.
Before opening my own practice, I worked primarily at outpatient substance abuse and mental health clinics. In these jobs, I have worked with many areas of mental health including those battling addiction and codependency, college-aged adults, general mental health such as anxiety, depression & serious mental illnesses, and people with traumatic brain injuries.
