HEALTH AND SAFETY
Kaimuki Middle School follows current Hawaii Department of Education COVID-19 health and safety guidelines (i.e. masking, social distancing, ventilation, cleaning and disinfecting). For more information, please refer to the link below to access our Health and Safety Handbook.
DRESS CODE
KMS uniform are not required to be worn during summer school. Please follow the typical dress code for a "free dress" day, outlined below:
All tops shall not be low-cut and must cover the midsection of the body.
Sleeveless tops must have straps one inch or wider and be fitted under the arms.
All undergarments (including camisoles) shall not be visible nor show through clothing.
All clothing and accessories must be free of messages relating to drugs, gangs, sex, or profanity.
All gang-related fashion is prohibited.
Stocking caps or head covers, wristbands, sweatbands, headbands, and leg bands of any kind are not to be worn on campus.
Hats, caps, and visors may be worn outdoors only.
Discrete and appropriately sized pants, shorts, and skirts (NO SHORTER than mid-thigh, NO excessive rips or tears) must be secure at the waist with no undergarments or posteriors showing.
CELL PHONES & SMARTWATCHES
Please follow normal school policy regarding cell phones and smartwatches:
Cell phones and smartwatches are not permitted to be used during school hours.
Phones must be turned off (not silent) during school hours.
Phones may only be used BEFORE and AFTER school to contact a parent/guardian.
Students will receive warnings and counseling if:
Devices ring or are not silenced.
A student is observed using his or her phone to call, text, take pictures, record video, etc.
CONSEQUENCES
After student has been counseled and/or parent/guardian contacted, if that student continues to be unable to follow school policies, he/she may be removed from the summer program.
