Quick course overview:
***All assignments must be completed EACH week. No late work will be accepted after the assigned due date.**
Pre-testing will be available on June 9 from 7:00-8:00 am and June 12 from 10:00-11:00 am. Post-testing will be available July 18 from 7:00-8:00 am and July 21 from 4:00-5:00 pm. Students need to be available for one of each of these dates.
Students will complete work in BOTH Schoology and Edgenuity:
3 cardio workouts each week
Must submit one screenshot from each workout.
Requirements of screenshot and workout can be found in the Fitness Logs in Schoology.
3 Strength workouts each week
You will upload 7 video clips of each exercise you are completing, so I can give feedback based on your form to help ensure your safety while performing these exercises.
It can take time to upload the videos to Schoology, it is highly encouraged you do not wait until the last minute to begin uploading the videos. All videos need to be submitted through Schoology.
Requirements can be found in Fitness Logs in Schoology
Weekly fitness reflection
Found in the Fitness Logs in Schoology
Skilled Movement Project (SMP)
You will pick three skills within a sport/activity of your choosing to improve upon over this course. A list of ideas can be found in the Skilled Movement Project Introduction assignment in Schoology.
Each week you will complete a reflection assignment and every other week you will also upload a video of each of the three skills you are working on.
Common point of confusion: students will want to count their SMP activity as their cardio for the fitness log, but they are unable to wear their smartwatch during the activity, so the student asks to be exempt from this portion of the fitness logs. If you are doing a sport where you cannot wear your smartwatch (such as Karate), you will still need to take time to complete your 3 cardio workouts. These could be going for a run, a hike, etc. If you are able to wear your smartwatch while working on your SMP and you are able to meet all of the requirements for the fitness log, you may use that for your cardio data (such as soccer practice).
Final Project at the end of the course
