My name is Terry Graff and I am a mother, teacher, and learner. I have two daughters who attended Cale, Walton, and Monticello High School in Albemarle County. My oldest daughter, Maggie, graduated from James Madison, and my younger daughter, Kelly, is attending Virginia Tech. My family and I have a new special member- a dog named Scout. I enjoy reading, flower gardens, going to the beach, and spending time with my family. When my daughters were younger they were fascinated with butterflies and I became a learner along with them. Every year I share the monarch butterfly migration with my students using https://journeynorth.org/monarchs. Students participate in the symbolic migration of the monarch to Mexico. One of my greatest joys of teaching is learning along with my students,
This is my 23rd year teaching with my Cale family. I have enjoyed teaching second and third grade because the curriculum is exciting and the students are ready to learn, collaborate, create and share. Last year I taught a STEM Special to all 4th and 5th grade students. It is an exciting time to be a student and teacher. Albemarle County's Lifelong Learning Competencies outlines needed skills to prepare them for 21st century skills. For quality learning I believe in rigor, relevance, and relationships that will empower our students to impact their world through learning, collaborating, creating and sharing in a connected global community.
The home connection is very important. If you have any questions or comments please contact me at tgraff@k12albemarle.org
