Somerville High School Orchestra:

The Somerville High School Orchestra program is a collaborative learning community that brings together students of all experience and skill levels, welcoming students from grades 9-12 to explore their creative spirit.  Leveraging the power of peer mentoring, and guided by a staff of dedicated professional musician/educators, the ensemble brings to life a wide variety of standard orchestral repertoire, contemporary music, and multicultural traditions.  Additionally, members can expand their horizons participating in a Renaissance Ensemble learning period instruments, an after school string quintet.  A team of professional guest clinicians from around Boston provide enhanced, targeted instructional support on a weekly basis.  (Staff: Andrew Blickenderfer, Joanne Sadler)

All City Middle School Orchestra:

The All City Middle School Orchestra is an after school ensemble open to students in grades 6, 7 & 8 from across the district who are interested in pursuing their musicianship skills to a higher level. Rehearsals are held at the Somerville High School every Thursday from 3:30-5:00pm. Students are invited to join the orchestra as they develop their note reading and playing ability. The orchestra performs in two evening concerts: Winter and Spring, as well as an end of year festival field trip to various destinations (previous years include Six Flags, Canobie Lake, and Boda Borg.) (Staff: Andrew Blickenderfer, Joanne Sadler)

All City Chamber Ensemble:

The All City Chamber Ensemble is a small ensemble open to students with three or more years of playing experience from middle and high school who want to develop their chamber music playing. Rehearsals are held weekly at the Somerville High School on Tuesday afternoons from 3-4pm. (Staff: Joanne Sadler)
