Suicide Prevention Tools

While attending the Vermillion Middle School if a student makes self-harm statement.  Reports that someone is hurting them, or they want to hurt someone it is mandatory for the counselor to do a threat/suicide assessment. The parent/guardian is called when this occurs. 

All staff are mandatory reporters. If a student reports abuse the staff receiving the information is required by law to make a DSS report.
