The importance of the "well-rounded student" is promoted in the Freshman Academy through the Student Involvement Requirement. Transition to High School and Advisory teachers help students to find and record student involvement opportunities. Students can find clubs and committees at Club Day and by watching for announcements in the morning podcasts. Other opportunities include running for office, becoming a Student Ambassador, joining the Freshman Academy Advisory Board, participating in a sport and more. Students are required to get involved in at least one activity/organization each semester or in a year-long activity/organization. In Advisory Classes, students use the WHS Freshman Academy Student Involvement Verification Form to keep track of their involvement and Advisory teachers input each student's involvement into an Academy-wide data collection sheet.
