University of Hawaii at Hilo Upward Bound

The Upward Bound Program is a college preparatory program that helps Big Island high school students develop the knowledge, skills, and motivation necessary to succeed in high school, enroll in college, and complete a (4-year) bachelor's degree after high school. We offer FREE services such as advising, tutoring, academic advancement, STEM opportunities, leadership development, life skills, and so much more!

Students who are interested in our program are able to submit an Interest Card located on our website to begin the application process. From there, we will follow up with eligible students to complete an application. Once the student has been accepted into the program, we will work with them throughout the academic year and each summer! We will provide instructions, activities, and services resulting in participants who will be academically, socially, financially, and emotionally successful in college and beyond.
